Link popularity or in other word inbound links are very important because most search engine considers them as a part of their ranking algorithms. If your site do not have inbound links, your site will not paper in good position in search engine results for competitive keywords. Quality of the links is probable more important than number it self for most search engine.
Building link popularity is time-consuming work and you can not do it in one day, one week, and even one month. It is on going process probably never ending!. Spend some time every week to work on link building and make it your routine for every week. Pick one day a week and set aside time for links. Link farms or banner farm are sites that exist solely to link to other web sites with out offering any valuable thing or without any content. Search engines do not crawl all the links in links farms. As example Google in particular say clearly to limit the number of links and even has been known to ban sites found using a link farm.
Link building is difficult and frustrating process. Don’t be disappointed if somebody refuse your offer and say you site is ‘poor’ or ‘bad’. Be courageous and request from more sites. If you ask from 20 sites, may be you get only one. That is the nature of this business, ask from another 20 sites next week!. It is important that whatever software you use to build links you have to work your self.
Somebody refuse today may change his mind after few months when you improve your site, so ask him again.
Before you really ask a link exchange, make some ‘good’, ‘friendly’ relation ship with a site and business of that site. First add their links in you site and send them e-mail that you did that. After some time you can inquire about some of their service in relation to your links. After that you ask in friendly way to exchange link. Try that it will work than just asking a link directly. If you develop good relationship it is harder to say no, when you ask for a link.
